In this interview Leo Spogen discusses his childhood in Belt; attending the University of Montana in the 1930s; working for the smelter in Great Falls; coming to Red Lodge to teach; differences between children of immigrant parents and native born children; promoting Red Lodge; his work as Commander of Civilian Defense during World War II; and the Smith Mine Disaster in 1943.
